Professional Photographer and Web Consultant

Background

I worked at the Institute for Learning and Research Technology, at the University of Bristol for over 10 years before starting my freelance career in photography and web consultancy.
My role as Information Manager involved:

• Managing the strategic information needs for a national government funded project (Economics Network)
• Maintaining content management systems and database systems
• Researching, evaluating and implementing various web technologies
• Sharing research through presentations, workshops, print publications, websites and social media channels
• I was also Managing and Production Editor for two international, peer-reviewed journals: The International Review of Economics Education (IREE) and Computers in Higher Education Economics Review (CHEER).

I left the University in September 2010 to set-up a web design business and to concentrate on my freelance photography.

Web Design, Development and Consultancy

I am co-founder and director of Fanfare Web Design a small web design agency based in Bristol. We specialise in creating elegant and effective websites for individuals and businesses using the open source Drupal Content Management System (CMS).

As well as overseeing web development projects for Fanfare, I also provide freelance web consultancy and technical support to other organisations and individuals.

My key web development skills include:

• Installing, configuring and maintaining content managed web sites using Drupal and Wordpress
• Basic server administration and LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) configuration
• XHTML/CSS

Freelance Content Editor

The internet is a very effective way of communicating and engaging with people. Websites need regular, high quality content or risk becoming out of date and losing online visibility.

Freelance Commercial Photography

I have been a photographer for many years and switched from film to digital six years ago. I specialise in Event, Commercial and Editorial Photography but have undertaken a variety of photographic commissions.

I shoot with professional digital camera equipment, use industry standard photographic software and maintain a full digital workflow throughout the process to deliver optimal results for all my clients. I can provide you with high quality images for your business and marketing needs.

I work on an hourly or daily basis, depending on the project and my rates are very reasonable. You can see some examples of my work below.
